I know a lot of protein bread is on the site, but this is one I had to share. It breaks my little girl’s heart when its a “blue moon” before a piece of candy comes into this house. I can hear it now “people eat candy dad” She’s four, and I hope some day her and her brother appreciate what momma and I do for them with our family diet. Now don’t get me wrong they get treats but not in a traditional sence, unless they are with friends or love one’s. This recipe makes up for that and Mrs. Hess doesn’t necessary likes chocolate so this one she makes just for me and I sometimes share with the kids. I love sweets but don’t like to eat them and this is my compromise.

Chocolate Protein Bread

Chocolate Protein Bread

ingredients

  • 2 Cups Oat Flour
  • 3 Egg whites
  • 2 Scoops Whey
  • 1 Cup Stevia
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 4oz Apple Sauce
  • 6tbs Cocoa Powder
  • 8oz Almond Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 4oz Greek Yogurt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°.

In a large bowl, combine the cocoa powder, oat flour, protein powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Whisk together until well combined. In another bowl combine the remaining ingredients. Whisk together until well combined. Then add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Spray your 9 x 13 Pyrex dish with lightly with olive oil and put in the oven for 35 – 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool completely. Cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator.

This can give you that mid day treat without feeling guilt from going to a vending machine for that candy bar, plus save a little money with the calories enjoy.
