If your anything like us, a gym membership just isn’t an option. For one, we can’t afford it. Gym memberships are stupid expensive. The other big reason going to a gym doesn’t make much sense for us is that we have KIDS! Yes, most places these days have childcare, but we have to wake up at 4 am to get in our gym time. I refuse to wake my children up at that hour to haul them to a gym. So we’ve had to get a little creative with our methods. 

What we’ve learned over the past year or so is that you don’t have to spend your entire savings on equipment for your home gym. The key is to pace yourself. Buy things here and there, but don’t go crazy all at once. If you can’t find it for cheap on craigslist or a second hand store like Play It Again Sports, then follow our lead and just make it yourself!
